Mt. Pleasant, SC – Gateway Financial Partners is proud to welcome Hope Sullivan, CFP®, as its newest independent financial advisor. Based in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Sullivan leads a planning-focused practice built on clear communication and a commitment to helping clients understand the decisions that shape their financial lives.
Sullivan brings an uncommon perspective to financial planning: she began her career as a math teacher. Today, her practice connects investment management, tax planning strategies, and long-term financial planning into a single coordinated approach, serving individuals, families, and business owners who want to take an active, informed role in their financial decisions.
Her years in the classroom continue to shape how she works with clients. Sullivan saw firsthand how much confidence comes from truly understanding something, and how frustrating it is when it is not clearly explained. That belief that people make better and steadier decisions when they understand not just what is being done but why it matters, is the foundation of her practice. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Education from SUNY College at Plattsburgh and earned her CFP® designation in 2025.
Through her partnership with Gateway Financial Partners, Sullivan gains access to a robust advisor-support ecosystem that includes advanced technology, operational resources, and marketing infrastructure. This collaboration allows her independent practice to operate with greater scale and efficiency while preserving the personal, education-first approach that defines her client relationships.
“Gateway Financial Partners is built to empower independent advisors like Hope, who put their clients’ understanding at the center of everything they do,” said David Wood, Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Gateway. “We are proud to provide the resources and platform that let advisors focus on what matters most: the relationships they build and the clarity they bring to their clients’ financial lives.”
“I spent years helping students see that something complicated could actually make sense,” said Sullivan. “Financial planning is no different. When clients understand how the pieces of their financial life connect, they feel more confident and make decisions they can stick with. Partnering with Gateway lets me spend more of my time doing exactly that.”
